Come Together.
The goals of the Mentorship Program are to:
Create a network of women in their chemistry-related fields across the Front Range
Foster professional and personal growth through the mentor/mentee relationship
Our Mentorship Program:
-
Connecting women based on research interests/career goals.
Members will have the opportunity to connect with women across the many diverse fields of chemistry to learn about exciting new research and get a glimpse into potential career paths.
-
Utilizing the benefits of different styles of mentorship.
1-on-1: One mentor and one mentee are paired together over common research interests/ career goals
Group: Members are grouped together based on common research interests/ career goals. Each group will consist of at least one mentor with 2-5 mentees.
-
Asking members to create and sign a commitment agreement.
Once the groups or pairs are formed, members will create and sign a commitment agreement of their design. The goal of the agreement is to clearly establish the expectations of the mentorship and agree to them.
For example, it is up to the mentor(s)/mentee(s) to determine the location and frequency of their meetings, activities, and goals of the mentorship. The agreements will be kept on file for chapter records.
-
Creating the Directory of Mentors.
The Directory of Mentors is a list of women who are willing to help other members with specified topics. This is a low time-commitment alternative for members who are not able to commit to a full mentorship at the time. The Directory will list members’ preferred contact methods and hours, and specified topics they are willing to give advice.
For example, interview skills, job hunting, resume building, research group joining, etc.
